Artist's Description
I photographed this striking silhouette of a lone tree after the Autumn foliage had withered and shed its last remnants and the first frost had come and gone, with the focal point being the intricate maze of bare branches set against the deep blue sky. I captured the gradient contrast of light to dark that unfolds during the evening “blue hour,” as I watched the sun setting over, and gradually descending below, the darkening horizon. I shot this with my iphone.
